ENS Launches v2 on Ethereum Mainnet, Revolutionizing Domain Control
The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) has deployed its v2 protocol on the Ethereum mainnet, introducing advanced technical capabilities for managing digital namespaces. The update focuses on enhanced permissions and registry flexibility, enabling granular control and multi-party co-management of subdomains.
Over 40 industry teams, including MetaMask and Safe, have integrated with ENSv2, ensuring broad compatibility across wallets and dApps. Existing .eth names remain valid, though eligible holders can upgrade to access new features and receive a commemorative NFT. The launch aims to establish ENS as a scalable and decentralized naming infrastructure for Web3 identity management.
