Finished Calvino’s Invisible Cities today, thanks to Devine Lu Linvegan (npub1z8r…mrq6) ‘s recommendation. It’s a really inspiring book! The synopsis saying about fifty-something imagined cities undersells the book dramatically. It’s not about cities at all. It’s about states of mind that give birth to cities, both at an individual and social level. Extremely enriching experience.

But, speaking favorite cities, mine were:

• City as seen by a reminiscing old man

• City hanging over the rift, in impermanence

• Cities that don’t have borders—there were several, and I didn’t really get the difference, but the idea of feeling infinitely lost is nice!

Of course, with the associated affects: FOMO, fatalism, displacement.
