Are .RU crazy enough to use nukes?
The answer is 'no'. Why?
- Using nukes means losing all support, including China, who according to some reports has been quietly asking .RU to de-escalate every time nukes are mentioned.
- Ukraine is the largest country in Europe by land mass: nukes would probably burn a lot of things, but not give absolute superiority. Remember Chernobyl is in Ukraine.
- .RU has had access to 60s and 70s NATO simulations which tends to tactical nukes = Amargeddon.
