C5 has been overblown by left wing extremists.

Regardless of the content of the law, the constitution guarantees meaningful consultation with first nations, and the SCC has already established guidelines for what that constitutes as a minimum. The SCC has already ruled that that process does not give FN a blanket veto over projects in the national interest.

Projects mainly at the provincial level have already been delayed because of courts determining that the consultations with FN have not been sufficient. The same will happen at the federal level.

Municipalities are under the jurisdiction of the provinces, who are completely capable of clawing back any funding directed to them by the feds. And we've already seen this done by Alberta on a number of occasions in healthcare.

As it is, housing prices are trending down, even in BC and Ontario, with increasing supply and lower immigration. Other provinces are building more residential units, and are improving faster. Ontario and BC's governments are not helping the situation there, with housing starts actually dropping in Ontario.

NG has been selling at a deep discount because the US has been the sole export market. Prices are going to go up to something more rational. Higher prices encourage efficiency. I don't see this as an issue.
