The Jönköping / Ölmestad detector looters that I blogged about have received suspended sentences and have to pay day-fines.
Their crime illustrates the unworkability of the Swedish metal detector rules. They went detecting on a lark with neither any permit or intent to sell finds. They stupidly went near a Medieval church and found a silver hoard. Which they could not hand in, or they would end up in court. And eventually they did.
