they definitely didn't shy away from slavery or segregation, we were even told about the CIA's execution of a coup d'état in Guatemale in 1954. I could easily have received the single *best* history and social studies education in the United States, yet I *still* came away from it with a pro-US bias. Having lived in the world for over two decades since leaving school, I *definitely* shouldn't have come away from my education with a pro-US bias, holy crap.
