You know spicy bananas? Every so often someone will offhandedly describe the flavour of bananas as spicy or tingly. And then everyone else is baffled because fruits are not supposed to taste spicy. Someone has to come in and explain that if fruit (with very few exceptions) makes your mouth tingle or feel spicy or feel numb, it means you are having an allergic reaction.

It's hard to distinguish something that nobody talks about because it's mundane, from something that nobody talks about because nobody else has those experiences. There really should be a Wikipedia page or something. List of common misperceptions?
