Im just spitballing here; and ive zero knowledge of Fiwix. BUT, why not take X11 out of the equation?
There have been dozens of alternative display servers for embedded systems over the users. Could Motif be ported to that?
Could a makeshift windowing system be cobbled together strictly ontop of a whatever passes for Fiwix's framebuffer or svgalib and then Motif wired into that ?
It doesn't sound like your interested in OTHER toolkits on this OS, so why build a system that would support them?
