How old am I? I went to check the weather. Thinking I wouldn't go to weather dot com because it's such a festering pile of ads, I went to weather underground like I often did. (You can tell how often I check the weather online). It just redirected to weather dot com. Huh. So I search for Weather acquiring wunderground and yep, that happened. **Fourteen years ago**. Clearly I'm not keeping up.
And then I discovered the real culprit here. Three years ago [private equity acquired weather dot com](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/the-weather-company-sold-francisco-partners-1235571884/ ) and that would explain why they consolidated everything, shut down stuff, and made what's left worse.
I guess I'll go over to openweathermap.
