I worry though that blaming a "system" let's people ignore individual responsibility. Besides, capitalism has been around since the late 18th century, since the industrial revolution. But our major pollution problems started in the mid 20th century, around and after WW II. Over consumption has been driven a lot by sociology; the top 10% produce more than half of the pollution.
