Apple’s SoC approach is mostly great (high-bandwidth RAM, etc.) but when it comes to the high end, it has its limits. No additional GPU support, no way to handle large amounts of RAM.
Unclear if they’ll ever bother with an M variant specifically for the Mac Pro. I wouldn’t count on it; the market segment is shrinking rapidly.
