Honestly, Tears of the Kingdom > BotW. It offers more opportunities to explore, more gradual difficulty, and game mechanics that reward creativity. (I gave up on BotW first time, but played TotK through. Playing BotW now, and it's easier for having played TotK, but I'm missing the breadth TotK offered.)
Mario Odyssey was great. My son loved Mario Wonder recently. I've always loved the various Lego games on that platform.
