With animations there is this problem: people can look at them, enjoy them and still not have anything to say.

(I don't count clicking a "like" button as actual engagement in the true sense of the word. But most people are too lazy to even do that.)

With complicated math it's a bit different. Once upon a time, people would either say interesting things, or ask questions. Now it seems they're either uninterested, intimidated... or just not here.
