I'm not using any BSD variety but what I've found about the seventh-gen Bethesda (or Obsidian, in this case) titles is that they generally run better on Linux in terms of stability. Try running NV, Fallout 3 or Oblivion (original) on modern Windows and you'll run into all sorts of problems, but running those games on Linux via Proton is a significantly better experience.
