So in the early 80s when the only term available was dyslexia and I didn’t quite align because I read well for my age but spelling and poor performance in arithmetic were notable enough that I went to special ed/resource room. Eg learning disabled enough for the 80s.
After two years they told my parents
A) girls didn’t need to be good at math
B) if I could type my bad penmanship wouldn’t be a problem.
