There was a lot of anxiety before this trip. The early access lottery was stressful! The Grand Park fire closed the trail about a week before our start. Then they reopened the trail just a couple days before but not our trailhead. Finally we were there and able to build a new itinerary with walk up permits. We had to carry all our food (no resupply option) and some days would turn out to be, ahem, ambitious. But once on trail it was pure magic.
