Might need more than a toot to address such a serious question.

Not particularly novel to point out the state as claiming a monopoly on violence. More a question of how to force a rebalance between the pluralistic/law-as-justice side of the state, and the monsters-from-the-id/arbitrary/violent side of the state.

More forcefully relevant now, with so much deliberately collapsing into the ‘boot stamping on a human face forever’.
