Democratic elites hate both intra-left debate and also cross-spectrum debate.
They want everything centralized with one organization per sector (donations, media, analytics, voter contact) and no debate allowed.
That's not democracy.
It's also why there is no "Joe Rogan of the left." His audience is there because of his celebrity, but also because he actually has debates. They're moronic debates, but he has them at least.
