Moss Wizard on Nostr: Looong before I had a “mature” understanding of how the state of Israel acts, I ...
Looong before I had a “mature” understanding of how the state of Israel acts, I watched all the Chuck Norris movies when they came out, and it creeped me out (as a youth/teen living in a Jewish home) how much those movies were devoted to positioning Mossad as heroes and generic “Arabs” as villains. It was as plain as day even to a nihilistic 70s-80s kid just trying to enjoy an action flick. I think those movies actually helped me process that what I was watching was just propaganda, that normal popular media in “a free democracy” was thick with overt state propaganda. Maybe that sounds obvious to you, but the general public are still acting like their favorite superhero, action, fantasy movies are just something to *enjoy*. “Let people enjoy things!” OK but take a step back and ask what it’s telling you to believe.
