⚡️⚠️ WARNING - X adds tracking parameters to the links you copy! Before sharing a post, check the URL. Delete everything after the "?" to clean up the link.
What's changed:
➣ Copied links may contain parameters such as "s=46" or "a=...."
➣ “s=” indicates, among other things, the device type and sharing method used.
For your information:
s=20 browser
s=19 Android
s=46 iPhone
➣ “a=” (or sometimes “t=”) can be used to attribute a click to a specific session or share.
➣ This data can be used to feed into sharing statistics, traffic analysis, and abuse detection systems.
➣ The recipient will still access the same post, even if you remove these parameters.
X may use these parameters to track where shares and clicks come from. This does not mean that your username is directly revealed to the recipient through the URL.
