Alright, I give up. I had to look up how these work. Thankfully Wikipedia works better than normal search engines I guess. So... it basically uses an actual mechanical motion as a switch to produce essentially a mechanical PWM? That just feels... insane. Am I understanding right? It feels like it would use more energy to achieve this than it's worth.
