There are only so many millions of preventable deaths a civilization can explain away as incompetence before the question becomes unavoidable.
Are our leaders incapable of saving lives, or simply indifferent to losing them?
Because these are two very different indictments.
Incompetence means you tried and failed.
Callousness means you knew, you had the means, and you chose something else.
We split the atom. We mapped the genome. We built machines capable of reasoning across the accumulated knowledge of humanity.
Yet children still die without clean water, food and basic medicine.
And leadership collects salaries, honours, pensions, monuments and standing ovations.
Enough.
Put the leadership record on the scales.
Every signature. Every budget. Every warning ignored. Every intervention withheld. Every preventable death.
Who knew?
Who had the authority?
Who chose not to act?
Who benefited?
No more hiding systemic failure behind ceremonies and statistical abstractions.
No more confusing the ability to acquire power with the competence to exercise it.
If you were too incompetent to protect human life, you had no business holding that responsibility.
If you knowingly sacrificed preventable lives to preserve your position, the question is no longer competence. It is accountability.
The dead cannot testify.
Their mortality records can.
The dead do not demand another monument.
THEY DEMAND AN AUDIT.
And the living demand names.
