Unfortunately, even Mozilla (Mozilla (npub16pr…crsg)) recently added the Google Play Integrity API to Firefox for Android (Firefox Nightly (npub1q6s…03km)), as part of their effort to support generative AI features.
Hoping that someone at Mozilla sees this thread and reconsiders that decision, in order to reconcile with their mission statement/values.
Apple and Google are gradually expanding their use of hardware-based attestation. They're convincing a growing number of services to adopt it. Google's Play Integrity API and Apple's App Attest API are very similar. Apple brought it to the web via Privacy Pass, which Google intends on doing too.
