I need people who grew up in conservative families to stop universalizing their life experiences. Just saw a well-meaning person trying to make a feminist argument go “your grandma was probably a tradwife because she had no choice.” Listen, my grandma (also a hardcore second wave feminist) worked her entire life and at one point was a negotiator for her union to win prescription drug coverage. Assuming everyone has a family history like yours is naïve at best and historical distortion at worst.
