I hate how much modern dishwashers suck. We have this weird dual cabinet dishwasher that the home owner installed because the kitchen in the half of the house that we rent was the show kitchen and wasn't designed to actually be used while the real kitchen is in the bottom half of the house. So the dishwasher is this weird double drawer cabinet thing to fit into a kitchen that was not designed to be functional.

Anyway this dishwasher clogs frequently and requires a lot of detailed cleaning.

Meanwhile old dishwashers we've had at other rentals over the years will continue to work when cockroaches rule the earth with no cleaning.

My 👸🏼 says that old dishwashers have mini garbage disposals in them to chop up any food particles and can move all that junk through without issue but the new, especially high end, dishwashers dropped that to reduce noise. Dunno if it's true but it sounds plausible.

Also we don't have a garbage disposal in the sink because supposedly the sewer sump and pump system can't handle a garbage disposal's output. But somehow it's fine with everything we flush 🤷🏼‍♀️

I keep thinking of installing a garbage disposal. It would take me an afternoon and a hundred bucks...
