I used WP for about 10 years to power Linux Audit. Did some ultimate tuning to speed it up, including my own scripts to cache pages.
I personally started to enjoy WP less after a while. The plugins needed to enhance the website, or protect it, or SEO it, as a starter. Also, I found it harder to actually use it as a tool to blog. Instead of writing, I got distracted by the interface. Now I'm free and love to blog again 🤓
