"content": "There are rumblings about Russia SVR is compromising hotel Wi-FI, and there are people re-upping how using public Wi-FI is so dangerous.\n\nThere's no fancy attack going on there. You're at just as much risk Googling for something and clicking on the results.\n\nIf you use best practices like not manually typing your password from memory into a website, and not pasting mystery clipboard contents into a terminal, you'll be alright. If you do like doing such things, might I recommend a hobby that does **not** involve the internet?\n\nTerrible quality image [courtesy Microsoft](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security/blog/2026/07/31/captivecrunch-midnight-blizzard-targets-travelers-worldwide-for-malware-delivery-and-credential-theft/ ).\nhttps://media.infosec.exchange/infosec.exchange/media_attachments/files/117/037/751/745/958/034/original/74734c2e01401ede.webp\n",
