Calling the Asia-Pacific the "Indo-Pacific" is like calling the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America", or calling the Persian Gulf the "Arabian Gulf". This is the language of colonisation; an attempt to symbolically claim ownership and control without any historical or democratic right to do so. I reject it utterly.
