I live in a highrise so for me ill pay a little extra to have food delivered to save the insane aggravation of dragging groceries up to the 16th floor. Theres a purpose to it, tho I also go to local stores and such that offer a good experience, Id never want to lose that. I think it's just a reasonable balance. Like get what you really need but you can also support your local business.
I think you're absolutly right about going out and participating in the world too. If you're just sitting at home having everything brought to you and never interacting with your community, thats a problem. The exercise you get of walkign around is a big thing but also interacting with actual people is something some people have forgotten how to do.
I see people complaining a lot about.. like "oh we never talk to each other" well....go to the local store and talk to the checkout person or such.
I think I blame shitty social media more than I blame Amazon tho tbh.
