It would excite me more to see a ~£300-£500 or so model sharing the same frame but partnering with AMD to use up old stocks of previous gen processors, for example. Reusability and upgradability and repairability reaches more hands and also begins to force the hand of bigger manufacturers towards a more sustainable future.
