6/18/76 passaic: dig the double drumming on cowboy songs like MAMA TRIED & BIG RIVER, locked grooves & no space for tom-tom thunder. another 13-minute 1st set CRAZY FINGERS, starting to open into question marks before relatively soft post-jam landing, but that’s it for open-ended improv in this show. a pretty solid nearly-keeper dead take of MISSION IN THE RAIN, good vocal & big performance. (i believe this video now makes the earliest sighting of lesh’s wristbands.) [2/3]
