Leon LaGrey’s GrapheneOS episode is a proper reminder that privacy is not just about which apps you use. It is about the operating system under your fingers.
Modern smartphones are incredible tools, but they have also become tracking devices by default. GrapheneOS challenges that by hardening Android, reducing unnecessary trust, tightening permissions, and giving people more control over what apps can actually do.
The bigger issue here is age verification. Once phones are expected to collect identity or age data at OS level, privacy gets pushed out of the way and surveillance becomes infrastructure.
That is why privacy-first operating systems matter.
