Theres this growing trend in western critiques of Israel where they make the case that Israeli's aren't Jews because they aren't living according to Jewish religious and/or philosophical principles.
Yarden Katz in Mondoweis and Yakov Rabkin in Informed Consent most recently. And now I'm starting to see it crop up in everyday social media commentary.
I have very little to complain about criticism of Israel but denying Jews Jewishness can go get fucked.
