Did you know that Mastodon has a timed mute? Imagine there's some kind of ... say, musical contest going on in some part of the world, maybe like... Europe. And some people are posting every 2 minutes about it. You don't necessarily want to unfollow or permanently mute them, because you know they'll be back to normal soon. Mute them for a couple of days. Set it and forget it.
