Adversity in childhood casts a dark shadow over people's subsequent life, health & well-being... as always prevention is better than treatment (which is not to downplay treatment & other support).
We need to be better ar protecting children.... as it is they as they grow up who continue to pay the social & personal price for what the adversity they confront.
