Incredibly, the same child came in today for the *same injury*: a paper cut to her (other) eye. Albeit a smaller, shallower scratch than last time. She said she was folding paper into a fidget, but could not explain how it attacked her (hmm, has she read The Girl Who Drank The Moon?). Spoke with teacher, who was not aware of injury at the time. Parents seem less unperturbed, and less flummoxed than I am. No history of self-injurious behavior. Perhaps they should get her to wear safety goggles. 👁️
