I am so glad to be home in Ōtepoti. I’ve bumped into a number of people, had friends around for dinner and lunched with others, got books out of the library, seen multiple kererū in our garden in the middle of the city, bussed to and from work, shopped at the Farmers’ Market every weekend, bought a physical copy of the ODT (and even featured in it last Saturday!), cycled to my old hairdresser in the next suburb, walked in/around the closest part of the Town Belt every morning before work, and been to the Open Arts Exhibition today. Hubby has been golfing with his old mates weekly and got himself a part time job as driver/guide for a local wildlife tourism company. Rabbit the cat has been outside for the first time in 3.5 weeks today - and only lasted a couple of hours before deciding it was overrated! Tomorrow we will go to church for the first time since returning. Life here is very good.
