When I was tiny, I wanted to be a spider in a ballet performance. My mother made me an elaborate costume for it, thinking the other mothers would be doing the same. Nope, 20 princesses, 1 glorious spider. But she adored seeing spider me twirl. So, years later, she crocheted me a black woollen poncho reminiscent of the costume, in honour of the tiny spider inside me.
