the idea of compiling shell scares the shit of me. JS being JIT compiled is dodge enough.
also how the hell are you going to type it when most linux tools presuppose semi structured text. it works for windows and .net because theres an ecosystem and a known object format other code can agree on. a shell using GObjects sounds equally dodge because of the hacks inherent to gobj
