mhh apparently bc of the protests. they did it 2024 due to riot control but it was ruled unconstitutional by a court. they try again.
as far as i see from news riots in france are partially peaceful students, partially violent riots. nonetheless the goverment is extremely aggressive this time. record numbers of arrests and they use a big arsenal of tools to suppress them.
(in comparison yellow west protest few years ago were 8000 arrests in 4 weeks. now they are at over 1300 arrests per day....)
no idea if it is especially violent this time or the goverment is just getting restrictive
