I always find it funny when someone says monero is impossible to trace and then describes exactly how to trace it
The monero blockchain is in large part a permanent, transparent ledger. It tells you the recipient's so-called one-time pubkey (which isn't really one-time, unless he abandons the money), it tells you ring signatures, it tells you fee amounts, it tells you the time of each tx, it tells you encrypted amount blobs that senders sometimes decrypt for the police using their private keys, and it logs every tx in such a way that if police ever get the perp's private keys (which can't be safely deleted), they can easily trace everything.
All of those leaks have been used in criminal cases to trace the flow of funds across monero and charge criminals with crimes, all while monero bros screech that it's really impossible. The documented cases, examples, and jailed criminals tell the contrary.
I look forward to finding out what happens with this lightning criminal. Whatever happens with him, it will be enlightning.
