"content": "I wonder why YouTube recommended me a 1989 episode of #BBC #Crimewatch - turns out there was a 1982 #GolfGTI used as a getaway vehicle in one of the segments (multiple armed #robberies on train stations in South #London)\n\nThere was a lot more #crime then compared to today, much of it seemed to be fuelled by rampant inequality (as well as #cars being way less secure than today, and a lot more #cash being handled by businesses)\n\nin 2025 someone in same part of London had their Mk1 Golf (just normal model, but now a #ClassicCar) nicked, but it was all over Facebook and multiple folk saw it and called #Metpol - thieves soon got nicked and he got his car back..\nhttps://f2.tchncs.de/media_attachments/files/117/022/330/039/816/275/original/812428a0b7559e30.png\n",
