I don't like that the whole "goth girl" aesthetic went mainstream. As someone who hit puberty while getting into metalcore at the same time and falling head over heals for scene girls I saw on the internet and irl I find it disgusting that what was supposed to be a unique subculture that filtered out the normies got mainstreamed. And it got mainstreamed cause everything sucks so much fucking ass right now and the whole "goth" aesthetic is supposed to reflect that but like it really falls flat because being whimsy and silly is the "counter culture" now.
