20th Sept 2026. How do your characters access water or whatever they need to drink?
My WIP community's land base is on the Atlantic coast of Ireland, where there has never been any shortage of water. Their shipyard is built deliberately where a river flows into the ocean. Planning for a sea voyage includes storing sufficient fresh water onboard, but again that's part of normal life.
