Why is Trump buying 36 Million barrels (4.8M tons) of Russian diesel?
1. The US is a net EXPORTER of diesel; the US EXPORTS excess US made diesel. We import a fractional amount of ULSD class (15ppm sulphur) diesel from Canada. Why would Trump suddenly buy #DirtyDiesel to prop up Putin's illegal war on Ukraine?
2. Russian diesel is refined in Russian refineries to current Euro-3 sulphur standards of 350 ppm vs Ultra Low Sulphur Distillate (ULSD) standard US diesel of 10 to 15 ppm. Due to bombing of 25% of its diesel refineries Russia has lowered its sulphur standards to Euro-2 levels (500 ppm). [Euro-4 is 50 ppm, Euro-5 is 10-15 ppm.]
4. Trump's EPA is responsible for imported dirtier RU diesel compliance with US ULSD and with other toxic heavy metal standards like lead.
5. Non US ULSD standard fuel (Euro-3 and Euro-2) can cause operating failures in US equipment (catalytic converters, fuel filters, engines, furnaces, etc) and improper refining can destroy metal components in use by failing to meet ULSD lubrication standards.
6. Why would Trump be now selling Putin's equivalent of South American mystery meat to Americans?
Answer: CORRUPTION & GRIFT.
