Well, the Leap thing was R.Brown whi said if there was no certain plans for SLED (Sle with desktop) Leap would need more people to do the work that SUSE people do in Leap 15.
In Kalpa seems that few people is working in that, including R.Brown himself. And main problem is the flatpak support by KDE.
Btw in the last 10 or 15 years at least SUSE only supports Gnome.
