🇬🇧 Mastodon is my first social media experience. I wasn't looking for anything special there and in almost two years of presence, I found some nice people to exchange and share with.

A word about the MSM attached to my first name. There is nothing sexual about it, it is simply the telegraphic abbreviation of the railway station near my home and the depot where I ended my career. Almost every Belgian railway station has one. The first letter the M refers to the former 19th century railway company "Grand Central Belge" and the next two symbolize Saint-Mard. The railway station is called today Virton but it is physically in Saint-Mard (a part of the merged town). It has long been called Virton-Saint-Mard. For the rest, I am a young retiree from the railways and my hobbies are:

* railways (their history, technology, ...) and other rail vehicles
* hiking
* amateur photography
* drawing and creating comics
* reading
* philosophy and religions
* nature
* science and astronomy

That's the very essential as I'm curious from nature about everything and everyone!

I'm Pisces and I check almost all the boxes (the good ones, as well as the bad ones).

I like courtesy, respect, constructive exchange, those who respect and take care of nature.

I don't like arrogance, disrespect, lack of empathy and those who throw their rubbish into nature!

Here mainly to share photos of hiking days, nature, trains, cultural visits or others, to have some good time and to show and see that despite all the ugliness of our current society, there are also many beautiful things.

I don't talk about politics and filter and ultimately block on these subjects because the fight, in my eyes, takes place in the real world and not through indignation on social networks.

If your account only contains messages on political themes, there is little chance that I will accept your request to follow me. The same goes for empty profiles and I systematically block bots that boost messages.

I am open to everyone as long as it remains respectful. I prefer a small community where there are real exchanges than a mass of subscribers with whom nothing happens.
