You would think that as more and more of the thugs are murdered, that the number of murders each weekend would decrease. You would be wrong. These are the same numbers we see every weekend in Chicago for the last 20+ years. Every. Weekend. Consider 100 marbles in a jar. 50 are red and 50 are white. Reach in, grab one without looking. If it is red, you remove it and it stays out. If it is white, you put it back. The probability of getting a red decreases over time. But murders in Chicago do not. It's a mystery of statistics.
