I'm willing to accept that MCP is an open standard because:

1. Multiple vendors implement it, in different ways.
2. Multiple clients implement it, in different ways.
3. The implementation details seem to be evolving as examples emerge.

I mean, I'm not writing this portion, but the square dance tool I contribute to is getting an MCP server, and multiple vendors will be able to access it.
