all digital camera sensors are sensitive to infrared and UV, but they have a filter on the sensor itself that cuts off those frequencies. if you're brave, or stupid like me, you can take apart the digital camera, remove the filter, put it back together, use a 550nm filter on your lens to cut out blue light, and then do a bit of editing on the RAW files, and you get pictures that look like Kodak Aerochrome like these
